The middle and upper parts of the Rogue River provide excellent fishing options. You can find summer and winter steelhead, spring and fall Chinook Salmon, and Coho Salmon in these areas. Rainbow Trout are spread throughout the river but are most common in the upper section called the Holy Water.
What types of fish and when?
The Lower Middle Rogue flows through Gold Hill and Grants Pass, offering the most fishing access with 19 parks and boat launches. The best time for Winter Steelhead fishing is from December to March. Spring Chinook are present from May to July, summer steelhead from July to October, and Fall Chinook and Coho from September to November. Great fishing is possible year-round.
