Hikers beware of Poison Oak!

Scattered about the Table Rocks is the oily and itchy Poison Oak. Stay on marked trails and avoid plants and bushes with “leaves of three.” Be aware that Poison Oak exists in many colors and forms.

The Applegate Trail

Early immigrants passed by the Table Rocks on the Applegate Trail (Lindsay Applegate pictured above). Following Bear Creek which flows into the Rogue River, the settlers would then turn North to the Umpqua/Roseburg region.

Vernal Pools

Vernal (Spring) pools host fairy shrimp after Winter and the rocks are home to 75 species of wildflowers. The Dwarf Woolly Meadowfoam (Wikipedia Link) is perhaps the most acclaimed as it only exists on the Upper and Lower Table Rocks.

No Dogs allowed

The Table Rocks are accessible for hiking year round for everyone but our four legged friends.
